About
Social Dimensions started in April 2006. It consists of a small, core team embodied by Dr Marlene Roefs and Daleen Botha who both have over 15 years experience in their fields of specialisation. Marlene is a social psychologist by training with a solid background in applied research methodology and advanced data analysis. In response to an increasing demand for results-based management in the development field, she has further developed her skills in strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of development programmes. As senior IT project manager, Daleen has serviced large and complex organisations in tertiary education and in the private sector. She is specialised in building IT applications and creating and updating databases.
In association with Development IT Solutions, we are able to offer web-based information systems that are based on open-source software. On occasion, we also work with selected social scientists that are experts in specific development fields, such as economics, public health, HIV/AIDS, education, recycling, agriculture and land reform. The selection of highly qualified experts and access to specialised IT solutions enables us to provide a 'one-stop' solution for M&E.
